Kalachakra Mandala is a Tibetan art what we call the wisdom and compassion Mandala.
This device uses the Time or History-Machine (Kalachakra) Mandala of the Buddha’s self-revelation as an embodiment of a progressive history as a framework for displaying the elements of Tibet’s buddhicization culture. The Kalachakra Time-Machine teaching gave Tibet its commonly used calendar of sixty-year cycles, beginning in 1027 C.E., the year the Tantra was introduced into Tibet. The astronomical mathematics of the Kalachakra Tantra is used each year to create the yearly calendar and almanac. The wisdom and compassion Mandala or cosmological model is designed to map the thousand-year-long process of “buddhicization” that transformed Tibet’s civilization from being a routinizing, nationalistic culture to joining Western post-modernity in being a deroutinizing, self-transcending, universalistic civilization, its distinctive inward turn making it unique on the planet. This civilization can be called modern since it resembles in sociological significant ways the ultra nationalistic cultures of the modern empires-becomes-superpowers, though its interiorization of the horizon of conquest makes to the polar opposite of the west.
Such as The Honorable his holiness Dalai Lama perform the holy practice every year followed by renowned Rinpoche through out the world for peace and prosperity.
